2018 Sale

After a good autumn and early winter the bulls had come through to sale day looking terrific. Many people commented on the evenness and strength of the line-up and bided accordingly. We finished with a complete clearance of all 44 bulls with a strong average of $10,897.00 and a top price of $14,500 to Freethlands for Lot 1. The first crop of sons from senior herd sire Whenuapapa Crumble 8-10 were very well received with 9 sons sold averaging over $13,000. We look forward to his second crop of sons for our 2019 sale as they are a very good commercial type.

A big thank-you to purchases, underbidders and agents for the support shown at our sale. It was a fantastic sale and we are humbled at the support shown in our breeding programme.

“New Purchase” Kaharua Outlander 632

We were thrilled to have purchased “Outlander” in conjunction with Rangatira Angus for $95,000 at this year’s Kaharau Sale. Outlander has all the positive attributes of his father “Braveheart”- a tremendous hindquarter, width of loin, soft fleshing and an EMA of 6 which puts him in the top 25% of the breed. His dam is a granddaughter of the great Zodiac 1of Kaharau and Outlander possesses the Kaharau bone, strength and perfect feet that are so hard to find in modern day Angus. We are really looking forward to getting calves on the ground by this superbly balanced young sire.
