2020 Overview
Our 2020 Bull Sale was certainly one we will never forget! A big crowd packed the arena awaiting the action.
Lot 1- Turiroa Complete 18P250 started the sale strongly and the bidding soon raced away to a whopping $86,000, selling to Oregon Angus in the Wairarapa. Turiroa Complete 18P250 was the first son up by Turiroa Complete 16M013 who was used as a yearling. We retained 100 straws of semen by 18P250 for in herd use only. He is a lovely type, very sound with modern day figures.
The second bull up Lot 8 –Turiroa Ragnar 18P224 which was brought forward in the sale . The bidding opened with a chorus of bids and soon raced away to $104,000 – a NZ On Farm Record, selling to Kaharau and Orere Angus in Gisborne. 18P224 was described by auctioneer Cam Heggie as being “burdened with goodness” . He is a lovely box shaped bull with tremendous style and outlook as well as possessing solid EBV’s.
The Turiroa Complete 16M013 sons were stand outs with 7 selling for an average of over $33,000. Other stud bulls were sold to Waimara, Delmont, Dandaleith and Meadowslea Studs. We had our best ever sale average of $12,560 selling all 50 Bulls on offer. We were thrilled that regular clients could still buy quality bulls in the $6-$8000 price range.
Our 2020 Sale was certainly a real thrill and we were both proud and humbled by the unforgettable result!
