Wairoa Mayor, Craig Little opening our 2024 sale

Turiroa Angus 80 years

Olivia and Ella cutting the cake celebrating 80 years of breeding

Lot 22: Turiroa 22T696, sold to Order Angus for $17,000

2024 Overview

For the second year running our 2024 Sale had to be postponed due to flooding in our district. This was extremely disappointing given we were celebrating 80 years of breeding and were all set to go when flooding and road closures on the morning of the sale made it impossible to go ahead.  Unfortunately we then missed the hype around bull week and all the outside visitors it attracts.

The buggie proved very handy delivering seafood chowder ingredients through flood waters to neighbours and all the catering that had been prepared in town was able to be donated  to the flood evacuation centre  – there is always a silver lining.

Our sale finally went ahead two weeks later. A huge thank-you must go to our local loyal clientele who showed great support with a full clearance of 51/51with a top of $17,000 to Orere Angus and an average of $8931.00.

After seeing the devastation of the most recent flood in our district we decided to donate half the proceeds of Lot 51  to our local Mayoral Relief Fund to assist with support for flood victims. Given all the disruption we were pleased with the sale and the lineup we put forward as they had come through another very wet winter.

Thanks again to all those who helped us celebrate 80 years of Breeding.
