Interview with Rural TV
Video 2020 Bull lots
East Coast Bull Walk
The East Coast Bull Walk is now scheduled for Saturday 6 June – Sunday 7 June.
Turiroa Bulls will be available to view between 9 am – 9.45 am
Saturday 6 June.
Strict Covid 19 Level protocols will be followed.
This is a great chance to get off the farm! Hope to see you there.
Sale 2020
We hope you are staying safe and well within your bubble as we find ourselves in unchartered waters. One thing is for sure farming has been and still is the backbone of New Zealand! Most of us are carrying out our normal everyday farming routines with a few moderations to keep ourselves safe. We are a resilient bunch with widespread drought for most of the country on top of closure of sale yards etc. certainly proving to be testing times. We wish you all the best if you are selling weaners.

At Turiroa it is pretty much business as usual. Weaning is going well without too much disruption and great to see some thumping calves. On another positive note nice having the kids home to help out!
Annual Bull Sale Update
We are undertaking usual preparation for our annual on farm Bull Sale on Wednesday June 24 while at the same time exploring alternative ways to hold our sale if need be due to Covid 19. This could include sale bulls being videoed to view online prior to the sale and then holding an online sale or pushing the sale back up to a month depending on Covid 19 restrictions. Our website, Facebook and Instagram pages will keep you posted on this. We are really hoping to still be able to hold our on farm auction in the usual fashion at the usual time but need to have alternative plans in place also. Rest assured that the bulls are coming along really well. We will have a strong line-up of 50+ with some new and exciting sires represented. We have some of the best EBV’s we have catalogued to date with very good milk, growth, EMA and fats without sacrificing the fundamentals of size, constitution, fertility, type and soundness.
100th Angus National Sale
Unfortunately the 100th Angus National sale on 13th May and the BEU (Bull Evaluation Unit) have been cancelled. Our bull Turiroa Complete 18P250 was the heaviest bull in the unit and was one of the top scorers in the beef class assessment (structure). We are reviewing our options but at this stage it is likely that he will be coming home and sold in our on farm sale or retained by us.
